The 5th International Forum on the “FutureCity” Initiative
Creating “FutureCities” to invigorate localities
The 5th International Forum on the “FutureCity”Initiateve was held on October 27,2015.
The objectives were to address the common challenges facing the world in the 21st century, such as the environment, declining birthrates and aging population and employment , and to realize, disseminate and develop models for sustainable cities.
The forum presented advanced case studies of local governments that had been pursuing the Initiative for several years.
Furthering discussion on the themes of comprehensive “creation of cities “that not only pursued “hard” aspects such as infrastructure, but also encompassed the “soft” aspects, such as socio-economic systems, services, branding and business model development, led to the wide-ranging implementation of policies for the future, with the aim of deepening the revitalization of regional economies and communities.
