International Forum on the “FutureCity” Initiative in Portland
Creating “FutureCities” to invigorate localities
The Internatinal forum on the “FutureCity” Initiative in Portland which was attracting global attention as a best practice example of a Compact City was held on 9th February,2016.
The Forum was a place to exchange views about urban development aimed at regional revitalization that was expected to lead to policies and proposals for future sustainable urban development and community cooperation.
At the Forum, case studies were presented of cities that had been pursuing the “FutureCity” Initiative for some time.
In addition, as well as sharing knowledge about how these cities fostered greater interest and affection in their regions and revitalized the regions in the process of urban development, the Forum featured experts from various sectors who discussed the essence of that knowledge.
